Production on the latest Maze Runner film was has been suspended indefinitely while Dylan O'Brien recovers from injuries he sustained on set earlier this year.
As reported, O'Brien was involved in a serious accident on the set of the franchise’s third film,Maze Runner: The Death Cure, in Vancouver, Canada in March.
Work on the film has been suspended since the accident, which saw the lead actor reportedly fall off the back of a set that was supposed to look like the back of a train, and a new statement from producers at Fox confirmed that there is currently no date on which the film will begin production again.
"His injuries are very serious, and he needs more time to recover," O'Brien's publicist Jennifer Allen confirmed in a statement.
"The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover,’ the studio added. "We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."
Production was originally scheduled to resume on May 9 with the franchise's third film, due to be released on February 17, 2017.
