After finding a university student's ID card in a New York City park, Tom Hanks has taken to Twitter in a bid to find the student and return the card to her.
"Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you," Hanks tweeted with a picture of the card, which belongs to a student from the city's Fordham University.

Though the student has yet to come forward, Hanks has been inundated with responses both praising his altruism and making light of the situation.
@tomhanks hey Tom I think I found your ID on Fordham's campus. Should we meet up? pic.twitter.com/MWOxdYgume— yellaM'O niveK (@OkalleyMevin) October 6, 2015
Hanks, who won back-to-back Oscars for his performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump, benefited from the kindness of strangers earlier this year when a New Yorker found the actor's credit card on a sidewalk and returned it to him. "A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it. You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX," the actor tweeted at the time.
Meanwhile, the actor surprised Reddit users last Monday by spending a portion of his afternoon commenting on a wide variety of threads on the online messageboard. It was the first time he had posted on Reddit since he joined the messageboard to take part in an 'AMA' question and answer session last year.
